Lucheni later hanged himself in his cell. The Purgatorial Court interrogates Lucheni although he committed the offence a hundred years ago.

Takarazuka Revue's 2007 production of the Viennese musical Elisabeth. The musical tells the story of Elisabeth ("Sisi"), the Empress of Austria, from her engagement and marriage in 1854 to her murder in 1898 at the hands of the Italian anarchist Luigi Lucheni, through the lens of her growing obsession with death, as her marriage and her empire crumble around her at the turn of the century.

The Takarazuka Revue and its early ties to Western classical music. When Kobayashi Ichizou Footnote 1 laid the first foundation for the Takarazuka Revue in 1913, he called the sixteen girls aged 12-16 who he had recruited Takarazuka Shoukatai, 'Takarazuka Chorus', but before they had even made their stage debut the following year he renamed them Takarazuka Shoujo Opera Youseikai.

As for the Takarazuka version I like the Yukigumi version with Maki Ichiro as Tod (later she played Elisabeth in the Toho Musical Production). She is a very classic Tod (voice, behavior) .
